LP RCA Victor SF 8317 (1972)

1972 erfolgte der Wechsel zu RCA, wo noch im Laufe desselben Jahres zwei weitere Alben erschienen: „Self“ und „Indweller“. Die komplette zweite Albumseite von „Self“ gibt einen Konzertausschnitt vom Dezember 1971 wieder, der die Fähigkeit der Band zu anspruchsvollen Improvisationen eindrücklich belegt.
Im Verlauf des Jahres 1972 verließen jedoch Shiva Shankar und Maha Dev Quintessence und gründeten die kurzlebige Band „Kala“, die auf dem Label Bradley 1973 die gleichnamige LP „Kala“ veröffentlichte, sonst aber nicht weiter in Erscheinung trat.

Kala - After Quintessence Complete Kala Recordings 1973
Inzwischen habe ich diese CD vorliegen.
Keine schlechte Musik -überwiegend konventioneller stonesmäßiger Soulrock.
Sehr gut gefallen mir einige Gitarrenausflüge.
Das rechtfertigt aber auch nicht unbedingt die Anschaffung der CD.

...alte Männer, die auf Tekkno stehen, oder ist das GOA?
Als auf Burg Herzberg jemand auf die seltendämliche Idee kam, eine GOA-Bühne direkt neben die main-stage zu stellen, hörte man nur dieses Tekkno Gekloppe! Das störte unwahrscheinlich bei ruhigeren Passagen! Ich glaube die stand auch nur zwei Jahre, dann hatten die es auch bemerkt!!!

OK, stellenweise kommen flute & acoustic guitar durch & manchmal etwas in der Art wie Ozric Tentacles!
drums & percussion sind gleichberechtigt zum programming, aber wenn man in einen anderen Raum geht, dann hört man es ganz deutlich. Indische Elemente gibt*s da ja auch noch, aber ich denke nur gesampled!
Fazit für Leute, die auf handmade stehen: nicht kaufen! alle anderen, sei*s drum!
