The double CD/DVD Ray Wilson & The Berlin Symphony Ensemble, Genesis Classic will be available from 9th September through most retail outlets. Recorded in Poznan, Poland on 18th December the two hour performance was recorded during the final show of 2010. The performance not only features Genesis material, but also solo tracks from Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel. Tracks included: Turn It On Again, Carpet Crawlers, Calling All Stations, Ripples, The Lamb Lies Down and more…

Ich finde das Auftreten von Mr. Wilson als "Genesis für Arme" so etwas von peinlich und unverschämt, daß mir die Worte fehlen Ich habe die Spätphase ja weitgehend ignoriert, aber was Wilson da macht, zeigt, daß manche Musiker wirklich überhaupt keinen Stolz haben.

Letzter Beitrag der vorhergehenden Seite:

Ich sehe Ray Wilson mehr als Song-Interpret denn künstlerisch veranlagter Songschreiber.
Sicher kann er auch selbst Songs schreiben aber echte Klassiker hat er (so weit ich seine Songs kenne) nicht hervor gebracht.
Von daher gehört er mehr in die Gilde von Joe Cocker der auch immer Fremdmaterial gesungen hat.
Der wichtigste Punkt dürfte aber sein, dass diese Konzerte mit Genesis-Material mehr Geld einbringen und ein sicheres Einkommen darstellt.
Um es gleich vorwegzu nehemen, ich finde das nicht verwerflich.
Die Konzertbesucher wissen was sie erwartet und Ray liefert eine sehr gute, perfekte Show.
Nur ist es halt nicht so künstlerisch wertvoll wie wenn er eigenes Material vorträgt.

Wieso ist es so verpöhnt, dass Herr Wilson mit dem, was er hat, darf und auf die Beine stellen kann, Geld verdient? Wenn es nicht legal wäre, gäbe es bestimmt geeignete Widersacher, und wenn es keiner hören/sehen wollte, hätte er keine Einnahmen. So what? Medin Rat: wem's warum auch immer nicht zusagt, der kann es doch einfach ignorieren.

Es haben sich übrigens einige auch hier im Forum zum Loreley-Festival 2017 höchst lobend zur Darbietung von Herrn Wilson geäußert.

Zustimmung! YES machen das gleiche, nur halt mit ihren eigenen Songs.

Nichtsdestotrotz hat für mich z.B. Steven Wilson einen viel höheren Stellenwert, weil er mich immer wieder mit neuem Material zu verblüffen vermag.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm! Ich würd ja hingehen, aber leider ist (bis jetzt) "Minga" wieder mal nicht dabei, und weite Anreise samt Übernachtung (man wird ja älter) ist es mir nicht wert.
