Letzter Beitrag der vorhergehenden Seite:

vorerst storniere ich nicht, das Konzert war nicht der einzige Grund, für den Trip.
Das hatte sich nur gut ergänzt, werde wahrscheinlich dann Jack White besuchen und wenn Rick ein Gig alleine spielen würde wäre mir das lieber wie ein ganzen Tag mit Musik berieselt zu werden.
Sightseeing und Shopping waren eh im Plan.

Das Konzert in Norwich am 22.6. steht noch. Mit der Bahn von London nach Norwich dauert ca. 1:50 Std. und ein Zug geht alle halbe Stunde. Für bestimmte Zugtickets gibt es noch freie Eintrittskarten in den Freizeitpark in Norwich.

Mit dem Auto braucht man allerdings ca. 3 Std, und fliegen kann man von London aus nicht (obwohl Norwich einen Flughafen hat).

Das Konzert am 21.6. gibt es jetzt wohl auch sicher. Rick schreibt dazu auf seiner HP:

The Phoenix Concerts 2012

From the ashes of the unforeseen cancellation of Crystal Palace has risen the idea of 2 completely different concerts that will take place on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd of June.

The first concert on the 21st will take place at The Granary in Beccles and will be a total unique one-off.

It’s...............Rick Wakeman & his Acoustic Rock Style Ensemble . (the name having been given by Dave Colquhoun whom I am certain must have realised that as an acronym it reads.......RICK WAKEMAN and his ARSE. Moving swiftly on...

This is the line-up:
Rick Wakeman - piano
Oliver Wakeman - piano
Dave Colquhoun - acoustic guitars
Ashley Holt - vocals
Tony Fernandez - percussion

And it will be a very unique evening in so many respects. Rick has never ever done an "unplugged" before with the ERE and also this will be the first time that he will have performed an entire concert together with his son Oliver.

The music will include many surprises and will bear no resemblance whatsoever to the rock show that he does with The English Rock Ensemble. It is also unlikely ever to be repeated so certainly one not to miss.

As well as the music from Rick and the band, there will be solo spots from both Oliver and Dave Colquhoun.

Another first will be a Q&A where questions can be asked not only to Rick but to any of the guys on stage. (Rick is extremely nervous about letting them anywhere near a microphone, but nevertheless has succumbed) !!!

It looks like it’s going to be a very special occasion

The Friday 22nd line-up for the concert at the OPEN in Norwich is that of the classic English Rock Ensemble where they will play all the classic stuff from Rick’s repertoire, (plus a few surprises of course), and the line-upon stage will be:

Rick Wakeman - keyboards
Dave Colquhoun - guitars
Lee Pomeroy - bass
Ashley Holt - vocals
Tony Fernandez - drums

It will be the only show in the UK in 2012 of Rick and the band and they have promised they will play until they drop. (Actually the band said they will play until Rick drops)!

Von musicalitytv hab ich noch keine Antwort, dafür aber von der Lufthansa: Auf Kulanz storniert man meine Tickets gegen die Hälfte des Preises. Nachdem ich Hotel kostenlos absagen konnte und inzwischen auch den Ticketpreis wieder habe, bleibe ich damit auf genau 150 Euro sitzen. Immer noch ein beachtlicher Betrag, aber verschmerzbar. Man nennt es Lehrgeld .

Jedenfalls ist der Veranstalter auf meiner Negativliste Wer erst 3 Wochen vor der Veranstaltung feststellt:

Announcing the cancellation on the garden party's website the organiser explained that when it was realised that a 1.5 ton scissor lift truck had to go on to the stage to erect sails and rigging some cursory tests were made to the structure.

"There was some obvious weather wear to the stage to the temporary boards that were put down some time ago. "It was thought this was only superficial. "On closer examination it seemed there might be a bigger problem.

"A surveyor was called and rotten joists checked etc it was discovered the dilapidation to the stage supports etc was much worse than was at first thought "Any sign off on safety or otherwise of the structure cannot be made possibly for several weeks or more and there's not enough time.

ist einfach nicht brauchbar. Der Mann kennt sich nur mit einer Sache wirklich aus: dem Konjunktiv.

ich finde es merkwürdig, dass offensichtlich keine Anstrengungen unternommen wurden, um das Event an einen anderen Ort zu verlegen.
Ich tippe fast auf einen schlechten Kartenvorverkauf, noch vor ein paar Tagen wurden verbilligte Tickets angeboten.

We will be filming the concert for the sale of a DVD and anticipate that they will be ready for purchase approx. 4 weeks after the concert.

Rick has put together The Phoneix Shows to replace Crystal Palace Bowl, both of which Musicality Tv are working hard to get ready for broadcasting live to Rick's fans.

The first show is at the The Old Granary on Thursday 21st June 2012 which will be a one off opportunity to see Rick Wakeman with his Acoustic Rock Style Ensemble together with a very special guest, Ricks son Oliver Wakeman on piano with Dave Colquhoun on acoustic guitars, Ashley Holt vocals and Tony Fernandez on percussion. In this 'unplugged' gig Rick and the Acoustic Ensemble will be performing a large proportion of music rarely heard plus a Q and A for the first time where the band will also have their say! It will be a genuine 'one off' as The Old Granary in Toft Monks near Beccles, only seats 120 so it should be a wonderful atmospheric evening. This show currently isn't on our website but will appear in the next few days.

The second show is on our website and it's the one at the Open in Norfolk on Friday 22nd June 2012. We will be filming both shows to put out as a DVD but at the moment I can't give you much information as we have not finalised ourselves the details ie cost, will it be a double DVD of both shows or not.

Tja, vielleicht lädt jetzt auch wieder jemand ein, bei dem Du an seiner bezahlten Verbindung umsonst mit zuschauen kannst

Beim Jarre hat ja der Fürst alles bezahlt. Und die Leitungen waren bei dem "Umsonst-Klimbim" absolut überlastet. Darauf kann ich verzichten und zahle lieber mal etwas in die Devisen-Kasse der Queen.

Aber mal ehrlich. Wie viele RW Fans gibt es? Wenn jemand den Aufwand macht, einen Auftritt mitzuschneiden (als größte Batzen: Zeit, Equipment, Urheberrechtsabgabe an den Künstler), so dass hinterher auch noch eine DVD rauskommt, soll er doch auch ein wenig Geld haben. Jeder möchtegern-semi-halbprofessionelle "Hochzeitsfilmer" verlangt vierstellig, um "den großen Tag" zu verewigen. Wenn Die Leute bei Konzerten zu solchen Kleinbeträgen nicht bereit sind, wird halt zukünftig nicht mehr mitgefilmt. Und wenn aus Mitfilmungen keine Erträge mehr für den Künstler rauskommen, dann wird der halt noch weniger auftreten. Über leg Dir das mal: Alles nur, weil Dir, lieber SOON, die 7 GBP für den Einzelevent oder die 3 GBP Monatsbeitrag zuviel sind?

Das hört sich jetzt alles etwas dramatisch an, aber ich kann dir versichern, dass wegen mir sicher nicht das Rockbusiness zugrunde geht.
Wie oben zu lesen ist werden die Shows ja eh für DVD-Vö's gefilmt, da ist es heutzutage kein Hexenwerk mehr das ins Netz zu streamen.
Da stimmt bei mir die Relation nicht, denn für etwas mehr als 7 GBP bekomme ich schon eine richtige, postproduzierte Konzert-DVD.

Meine Bemerkung ist deshalb so zu verstehen, dass es andere Künstler gibt, die ihren treuen Fans, sowas auch mal kostenlos möglich machen.
Konkret spreche ich da von Manuel Göttsching.

RW konzentriert sich neben allseits schon bekannten Infos über den gestrichenen Event und die beiden (dafür) kommenden auf seine poiltische Ausrichtung:
