Rick Wakeman is one of the most astoundingly talented keyboard and synthesizer artistes the UK has ever produced he has been in the industry for over 30 years. Rick became an international star through his association with globally successful group Yes and their string of huge selling albums; going on to produce some milestone million selling albums as a solo artist
Rick left the Royal College of Music in pursuit of a career on the buzzing London music scene. Whilst at college he featured on David Bowie's Space Oddity and for the next three years, on over 2000 recordings with such artists as Cat Stevens, Black Sabbath, Lou Reed, Ozzy Osbourne and many, many more.
At The Crystal Palace Garden Party Festival we see Rick performing an EXCLUSIVE show with his band in 2012 which last featured on the Cropredy Festival to great acclaim.
As a band, Hawkwind are pretty unique. They have been assaulting their audiences senses for over thirty years now with their own psychedelic space rock while maintaining their identity and largely sticking to their fundamental beliefs.
Forming in the Summer of 1969, they rehearsed in a basement in Putney and made their debut appearance August
They gate–crashed and announced they would be first on. They decided to call themselves 'Group X' and played a short ten–minute psychedelic jam.
We have lift off.....
