Vielen Dank Flotten(en)mann1 für den prägnanten und informativen Abriss dieser interessanten Reise. Ich denke, viele hier im Forum konnten sich bislang nicht vorstellen, wie das Ganze wohl von statten geht und haben nun ein gute Information aus erster Hand.
Es macht Appetit auf mehr.
Noch ein Frage: Gab es Konzerte ganztägig im Außenbereich, oder war es da auch möglich zu chillen?

gesehen habe ich

Electric Asturias, PFM, Renaissance, Saga, Softmachine, Three Friends (Gentle Giant), Queensryche, YES, UK, Tangerine Dream,
Cheap Thrills (3 Songs), Scale the Summit, Marrillion, Steve Hackett, Strawbs, Sound of Contact,

überrascht war ich von den Electric Asturias, die ich bisher nicht kannte, aber sehr gefielen.

Noch ein Frage: Gab es Konzerte ganztägig im Außenbereich, oder war es da auch möglich zu chillen?

auf dem Aqua Park Deck 14 waren die Konzerte meist ab Mittag, aber auch mit Pausen, so das man auch im Pool, Whirlpool
oder nur im Liegestuhl entspannen konnte.
auf Deck 15 standen auch viele Liegestühle, auch von dort konnte man auf die Aqua Park Konzertbühne sehen.

von den oben aufgeführten Bands habe ich Aufnahmen (ausser UK, war streng verboten !), bei Yes wusste ich am Anfang
nicht ob Aufnhamen erlaubt waren, sah dann aber 3 Reihen vor mir einen, der das gesamte Konzert mit Stativ aufgenommen
hat, ich habe es ab mitte Close to the Edge aufgenommen, konnte auf Youtube Firebird Suite, America und Tempus Fugit
runterladen, so das nur noch ca. die ersten 5 Min. von CTTE fehlen.

es gab noch die Roger Dean Gallery auf Deck 16, wo wir waren und die Kunstwerke ansahen, viele liesen sich die nicht gerade
billigen Stücke, welche zum Kauf angeboten wurden von Roger signieren.
Eher zufällig landete ich auch im Pantheon Theatre, wo Roger Dean 'The Artwork of YES' zeigte, habe auch hier ca. 30 Min. auf Video
Roger war auch immer zu Spässchen aufgelegt !

@ Flottmann1 - war für Dich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis o.k.?

die Cruise lag bei 3 Mann Belegung Large Balcony (Deck 10) bei ca. EURO 920,- pro Mann, hätte man evtl. auch in der billigsten Kategorie Innenkabine für etwa EURO 720,- buchen können, aber da haben diejenigen die bereits eine Cruise gemacht haben einen Buchungsbonus, Balkon hätte ich eigentlich nicht dringend benötigt.

Flüge (Hin/Rück) gibt es ab ca. 650,- mit Umsteigen in Atlanta, wir hatten einen Lufthansa Direktflug nach Miami für 860,-

da man mindestens 2 Tage vorher anreisen sollte, kommen noch Hotel/Motel Kosten dazu, evtl. auch noch nach der Cruise.

wir hatten einen Mietwagen ab Airport, Navi zu empfehlen, da es doch ein grosses Gewirr von Autobahnen/Strassen in Miami gibt.

für mich war es OK, da wir auch etwas Urlaub und noch Key West, Everglades, Kennedy Space Center besucht haben.
Unser Hotel in Miami Beach (North) hatte einen Pool und 15 m daneben der Strand zum Meer, wo ich auch schwimmen war
Orlando haben wir ausgelassen, da es sich dort um teure Vergnügungsparks handelt, wo wir nicht so intressiert waren.

This is truly a “world event” and we anticipate fan representation from over 30 countries throughout the world. Progressive Rock is alive and well and we look forward to seeing all of our old friends while welcoming new family members later in 2015. Without further delay, here are the highlights…



Date & Ship


We are pleased to announce a new ship and itinerary as we welcome Norwegian Cruise Line to the 2015 Cruise to the Edge. Our ship will be the fabulous Norwegian Pearl, sailing November 15 - 19, 2015 departing from Miami and visiting Key West, Florida, a pristine Private Island in the Bahamas plus a music-filled day at sea. By the way, the NCL Pearl will feature multiple stages of Progressive Rock music, 13 bars, 16 dining options a 4 lane bowling alley, rock climbing wall and many more activities and features to be announced.

This year you will also be invited to a complimentary Pre-Cruise Concert & Party (November 14) featuring a special Progressive Artist to be announced. Details on the event will be revealed in the months to come!
